You always dreamed about having your own Truffle trees and eat your own truffles ? You're looking for a great and original gift ? Don't look further, you're in the right place !!!

For that, it has never been so easy:

  • Just chose the truffle oak depending on its plantation year
  • The new owner will receive an owner certificate and an explanation note
  • One night free in our Domaine for 2 persons, breakfast included
  • As soon as the Truffle Oak will start to produce, the owner will receive his quota  of truffles during the entire production life of his oak.
  • Where are the truffle fields located?

For security reasons, we chose not to make public the exact location of our truffle fields. The more the location is known the more risks of deliberate damaging or even robbery! All we can tell you, is that they are located in lands appropriate for truffle cultivation (soil, sun exposure, orientation, slope…). They are located in the southern French departments of Hérault and Lot.

  • Is there any guaranty the oak trees are going to produce Périgord black truffle?

Our truffle oak supplier is one of the best mycorrhized tree nursery in France. It works under the strict monitoring of the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA). All the trees we buy are guaranteed to be mycorrhized with Tuber melanosporum, the Périgord black truffle.

  • Is there any guaranty the oak trees are going to regrow properly after being planted in the truffle field?

If your truffle oak were to die before the end of its production lifetime (usually around 20 years), we automatically replace it by another one.

  • When am I to receive my first truffles?

After being planted, an oak tree usually requires 5/6 seasons before starting producing truffles. Vintage year indicates when was planted the tree, so farfadets have to wait 5 to 6 years starting from the vintage date.

  • For how long am I being to receive truffles?

Farfadets receive truffles during the production lifetime of their oak tree, which is around 20 years.

  • What is the average production of a mycorrhized oak tree?

We have 450 planted truffle trees per hectare and the average production is around 45 Kg/hectare. This means the average production of a truffle oak is around 100 g per tree.

  • How many truffles am I to receive per year?

As the production is pooled among all the oak owners of a given vintage, the quantity of truffle received is proportional to the number of oaks you own, not to the individual production of each tree. You are entitled to receive 50% of your allotted share of truffles. The rest will cover Ronds de Sorcière’s costs of maintenance, caretaking, security, delivery, etc.

  • Is there any risk my tree is will not produce truffles?

As the production is pooled among all the oak owners of a given vintage, the quantity of truffle received is proportional to the number of oaks you own, not to the individual production of each tree. For instance, the owner of a 2007 vintage oak will receive its allotted share of the production over the 4,050 planted trees even if his own tree did not produced anything.

  • Once I become the owner of one or more truffle trees, what are the annual costs of maintenance?

None! Buying a tree is the only expense of farfadets. All the costs for cultivation, maintenance, caretaking, security, delivery, etc. are covered by the 50% of the production kept by Ronds de Sorcière. Such a system enables Ronds de Sorcière not to require you to pay any additional fee, even in the event of a year with especially poor production.

  • I would like to offer a truffle oak as a present. What will the person receive?

The person who is being offered such a marvellous present will receive the following in an elegant envelope wax sealed with Ronds de Sorcière’s initials:

  • A nominative ownership certificate indicating the references of the owned oak tree(s) (oak identifying number and plot name)
  • A detailed brochure explaining all that’s needed to know about truffles, truffle trees and Ronds de Sorcière
  • One night free in our Domain for 2 persons, breakfast included
  • A card indicating who offered the tree(s)
  • A form to be filled in and sent to us in order to fully register him as the owner of the oak(s).

You can choose whether you would like to receive it at home and give it yourself or to have us sending it directly to the person.

  • How can I get some information about my truffle oaks?

Every person who owns a truffle tree becomes a farfadets and a member of the The Farfadets’ Club. All important information about truffle production is available in the Farfadet’s Club dedicated area on our website, which is accessible to all tree owners who fully registered their tree(s).
